Join this free mindful movement class on Wednesdays from 1:30-2:30 pm. Class runs February 13-April 3, 2019. This class will be hosted by YogaWorks at 1632 17th St. NW, Washington, DC 20009. Email: Meg Artley <firstname.lastname@example.org> with questions and to register.
Using the wall and lots and lots of props, participants will be guided through slow, careful movements to explore strength, flexibility, balance and range of motion. The class will include floor work and standing poses — alternatives are available for those who can’t get up and down from the floor unassisted. Beginners are enthusiastically welcomed and everyone is encouraged to work at his/her own energy and ability level. The class ends with a focus on the breath, relaxation and guided meditation.
Meg was fortunate to have a physician recommend Hatha Yoga to her over 12 years ago as a way to navigate a chronic illness. Since then, her practice has not only brought her healing; it has also brought her joy, community, and a deeper sense of purpose and service. She teaches from the sense of connection to the true self, to others, and to the community, and believes that yoga is a mind-body practice that is meant for everybody and every body.
She received her teacher training at Tranquil Space (200-hour in 2012, completion of the 500-hour in 2017) and has clocked more than 1,000 hours of teaching since 2012.
