Creative Story Circle: Making our Stories Into Art with Nephelie Andonyadis
Wednesday, June 30 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until Wednesday, August 11, 2021
Join long-time theater artist, professor of theater arts and student of gerontology, Nephelie Andonyadis, in an eight-week session to co-create a shared artistic event to share with our community.
We’ll make a space to get to know each other, share stories and collaborate on a creative work. Using facilitated discussion, community building and a story circle format with creative prompts for story gathering, both the content and form of the outcome will be developed with the group. It could be many things – a puppet show, a performance, a radio play, a gallery show, an immersive experience, a dance, a video, a neighborhood walk, pot luck meal, inter-disciplinary installation, booklet/pamphlet, community story sharing or poetry reading, comic book, a song. We’ll decide that together!
This is a chance to transition out of quarantine and lock down and reflect on the ways that we, and our lives, have transformed. We’ll share our life stories – looking back and looking forward. Share what matters to you? What are you concerned about? What are your stories that need to be told?
These sessions will be on Zoom, with an optional in-person gathering at the end.
