Exploring Contemporary Drawing and Materials
October 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Thursday, repeating until November 19, 2020
In this class we’ll look at a range of images by contemporary artists who use materials, both traditional and non-traditional, in fresh ways. We’ll also look at making alternative, readily available materials (homemade inks, watercolors, unusual surfaces, etc.) for students to try in their own work outside class. Lastly, we’ll touch on maintaining a personal file of clippings, poems, photographs, etc.— for the purpose of always having a place to start when making one’s own work.
This class will be taught by poet and artist, Marie Pavlicek-Wehrli.
