Fearless Creative Exploration with Meg Artley at the West End Neighborhood Library on Fridays at 10:30 am
Friday, November 26, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:30 am on Friday, repeating until Friday, December 17, 2021
Develop or strengthen fearlessness as you explore your own creative power. Using the theories of creativity and art making expressed by Julia Cameron in The Artist’s Way and Elizabeth Gilbert in Big Magic as guideposts, instructor Meg Artley, E-RYT 500 and aspiring artist, creates a safe space for participants to embrace play and process rather than perfection in their creative work.
Each class will include gentle movements done in a chair to relax the body; breathing and meditative techniques to calm the mind; and a creative prompt/an artistic technique/introduction to an artist’s work to get the juices flowing. Participants will be given an assignment to work on at home along with specific techniques to try or to build upon, or resources for further investigation. After the first class, we will share creative pieces, processes, questions or inspirations from the past week. Pique your interest? Feel free to join our merry creative band. Please bring a journal or sketchbook and a writing/drawing instrument to the first class.
