Learn how and where to look for birds in our area! Happy Earth Day 2020
April 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
This is an interactive classroom session of resource-sharing and new birder tips. Participants will learn about key birding organizations and regular birding activities in the area, many of which are free of charge. We will also review web-based and smartphone app resources for birders as well a number of birding guidebooks. We will walk through use of two popular and useful smartphone apps: eBird and Merlin Bird ID. Participants are encouraged to share their own experiences and tips.
Long-time DC resident Joan Haffey is a Virginia Master Naturalist who participates in monthly natural resource surveys in two national wildlife areas in our area. Joan regularly participates in activities of a number of great birding organizations in our area, which she will discuss during the class. She looks forward to sharing information on the many resources available to birders in the Washington, D.C. area.
