Learn how and where to look for birds in our area!
April 8 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
This is an interactive classroom session of resource-sharing and new birder tips. Participants will learn about key birding organizations and regular birding activities in the area, many of which are free of charge. We will also review web-based and smartphone app resources for birders as well a number of birding guidebooks. We will walk through use of two popular and useful smartphone apps: eBird and Merlin Bird ID. Participants are encouraged to share their own experiences and tips.
We will be using Zoom. You will receive a Zoom invitation the morning of the class. Download this information: Preparing for Your Zoom Meeting to help you get ready for the workshop if you have not used Zoom yet. Let us know if you have questions– Community@iona.org.
Long-time DC resident Joan Haffey is a Virginia Master Naturalist who participates in monthly natural resource surveys in two national wildlife areas in our area.
