The month of April is a time to recognize and encourage people to seek out ways to engage in their communities. While this engagement still looks somewhat different from pre-pandemic years, 308 Iona volunteers and interns gave more than 11,000 hours of their time in service to our mission supporting older adults in FY23. Check out a few of them on Iona’s Facebook Page

In recognition of this dedication, volunteers are invited to stop by the Iona Front Porch on Saturday, April 27, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for simple refreshments and perhaps:

  • Enter a drawing for some small door prizes
  • Pick up a pair of volunteer socks
  • Plant sunflowers on the Iona property—or take seeds home to plant
  • Send up a flying wish paper
  • Meet other volunteers
  • Fill out a form to be featured in Iona Facebook postings throughout 2024**

(Parking is on the street or in the Iona garage, accessed from 42nd Street. As you know, we are close to the Tenleytown Metro stop on the Red Line.)

No need to register just stop by!
