Volunteer to Deliver Fresh Produce
Saturday, June 3 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
| FreeHelp deliver bags of fresh produce to our older adult neighbors on Saturday, June 3, from 1 – 2:30 p.m. The fruit and veggies are provided by the NW Community Food Pantry in a collaborative program with Iona.
Pick up of the produce bags is at this pantry in the Van Ness/UDC neighborhood; delivery is to Regency House residents near Chevy Chase, DC. (Politics & Prose Bookstore is just a few blocks away, if you might want to go there afterward for browsing or coffee with other volunteers.)
You must have your own vehicle to participate; Iona can lend you a shopping cart or small wagon, if desired, to help make the deliveries. This is a great opportunity to assist others and maybe make a new friend in the process!
For more information, contact Tania Sechriest at volunteer@iona.org or (202) 895-9419.
