SUMMARY:VIRTUAL Monday Social Workshops with Courtney
DESCRIPTION:Monday’s virtual presentations swing with a focus on local\, little-known aspects in Washington\, DC’s history. We unearth the stories that connect us to the present\, bringing appreciation to lives and stories that helped to shape the city and impacted the country as a whole. Spring and Summer open up to oceanic news and celestial events\, while other months channel national themes.  \nHow to Join This Virtual Class:\n\n1. Create an Account (if you don’t have one yet)\n2. Log in to Your Account\n– On a computer: Hover over “My Account” in the top right corner and click “Login.”\n– On a phone or tablet: Tap the blue square in the top right\, scroll to the bottom of the menu\, tap “My Account\,” then tap “Login.”\n3. Access the Virtual Program Links page\nOnce you’re logged in\, hover over or tap “My Account” again and select “Virtual Program Links.”\n4. Find Your Class\nPrograms are listed by the day of the week. Scroll to locate this class.\n5. Join the Zoom Session\nClick the Zoom link next to your class to join. \nBio:  \nCourtney Tolbert is a native Washingtonian who was raised in Reston\, VA. While attending college\, she moved back to the city and has lived here ever since. She attended classes in Shakespearean acting and then studied American literature with a minor in Spanish. She became a program assistant and project assistant with an international and domestic aid organization before leaving to work in the senior community. First\, as an activities assistant\, and later became a program manager. She began with the Sunrise Community and Iona Senior Services\, accumulating over 20 years of interactive programming experience.    \nA mother of two\, her interests are in history\, films\, photography\, poetry\, folk art\, and music. She has been a Humanities Award recipient and a presenter at the DC History Conference. After having lived in every quadrant of the city\, she participates in her local community association and has served as a two-term president.
