Games, Lunch, and a Movie
You’re Invited to Guy Mason Recreation Center’s “Games, Lunch, and a Movie” the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. Games start at 11, lunch is at 12, and the movie starts at 1pm. The events are free and parking is available at Guy Mason 3600 Calvert Street. The movies for September are: Sept 13 “The New Rijks Museum” a documentary about the restoration of the renowned Amsterdam art museum. Sept 27 “Tim’s Vermeer” an analysis of how Vermeer created his paintings and an attempt by an American inventor to recreate his technique.

Mondays, 6 p.m. English as a Second Language with
Abigail Bruhlmann.

Wednesdays, 2:30 p.m., Functional Movement with
Gyrokinesis, taught by Nina Dunham.

Second and Fourth Wednesdays, 11 a.m.—12 p.m.,
French Conversation with Maurice Schiff.

Thursdays, 7 p.m., Yoga for Seniors.

 

The movie about Alice Neel is October 25 at 1pm. The events for November are:

  1. November 8: Games, Lunch and Movie (11-3). A double Feature. “David Hockney: A Bigger Picture” and “A Model for Matisse: The Story of Henri Matisse, Sister Jacques-Marie and the Vence Chapel”
  2. November 13 (12-2): 3D: Dining, Documentaries and Discussion. The titles are still being decided
  3. November 22 (11-3): Games Lunch and Movie. “Russian Ark” A fantasy filmed at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.
