Local resources for people with Parkinson’s

The home page of local Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area is  https://parkinsonfoundation.org/ or you can type.http://www.PFNCA.org.   The mission of PFNCA is to supply free programs (lectures, exercise classes, support groups, etc.) to those living with Parkinsons in the DC Metropolitan area.  These opportunities are held in many places throughout the DC, VA and MD area.

Their exercise programs (“wellness programs”) are listed and accessible on the web beginning at https://parkinsonfoundation.org/Programs.  They are sorted by location and/or category (communication, education or exercise).

The large national organization that does advocacy, fundraising, and program grants is called the Parkinson’s Foundation.  Its website is located at http://parkinson.org.  It is one of the largest advocacy groups for funding PD research and maintains a terrific library, accessible online, of information concerning the disease, ongoing research, grants awarded, current clinical trials, living with PD, etc., and all things related to and impacted by PD.
