On December 10th, our friends at Washington Master Chorale will present their treasured holiday tradition of seasonal choral music with Sweet Was The Song! Tickets are limited.
Join this group of people who enjoy singing at "Music & Melodies". They meet in the basement game room at the Chevy Chase Community Center 1-2 pm Mondays. No experience or talent is required, just a desire to sing. Participants use binders of lyrics to many familiar songs, and they are accompanied by a musician on a keyboard. Dropping in is fine: there is no need to register. Come check them out!

Encore Chorales are non-auditioned choral groups for adults over the age of 55. There are currently fifteen Encore Chorales in the metropolitan Baltimore-Washington area. For each fifteen-week semester (Sept-Dec and Jan-May), all Chorales rehearse the same music. Upon completion of the semester, multiple chorales come together to perform concerts. All concerts are free and open to the public, and are held at prestigious high-visibility locations such as the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage and DAR Constitution Hall. Singers are seated for rehearsals; they may also be seated for concerts if preferred. Rehearsals are 90 minutes. Encore Chorale's repertoire may include selections from the American Songbook, Broadway show music, classical and opera, and secular or religious holiday music. Encore is tuition-based. Tuition varies with locations. In addition to the fifteen weeks of rehearsals, led by a professional choral conductor, tuition covers all sheet music and a rehearsal CD highlighting the singer's voice part.
