Have you ever taken a walk downtown and wondered about the history of some of the ornate buildings near the Department of Treasury? In the late19th and early 20th Centuries, financial institutions built large impressive offices to display their wealth and power in the nation’s capital. Please join us to explore the history and architecture of some of these gems, contemplating, perhaps, the role of money in Washington, D.C. At 11am, we will take a tour of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and see where all that money is printed.
