Meet:  10am at For Five Coffee Roasters, 1735 N. Lynn St., Rosslyn, VA.  (This is a coffee shop across the street from the Rosslyn Metro).

Please join us for a walk around Theodore Roosevelt Island, an 88 acre woodland park in the Potomac River that has served as a farm, a civil war training camp, and a freedman’s village.   We will walk from Rosslyn to the Island, visiting the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial, a tribute to our 26^th president.   From there we will stroll along  trails and a boardwalk through the wetland landscape, looking for birds and snapping turtles.

Please wear shoes suitable for walking on uneven trail terrain.  Also recommended, hats, water bottles, sunscreen and bug spray. 

End: Approximately noon in the parking lot for the Island.
