In this virtual film salon, we explore timeless cinema classics together through engaging and thought-provoking discussions. Participants will receive a link ahead of time to watch the selected film on their own, along with guiding questions to spark reflection.

At our scheduled Zoom gathering, we come together at 7 pm for a lively conversation—diving into themes, memorable moments, and different perspectives. We’ll incorporate clips and highlights so everyone can participate and enjoy the discussion.

With over a hundred films behind us, each session offers something new to discover—whether it’s a striking image, a powerful idea, or a shared moment of connection. Join us for a meaningful journey through the magic of cinema.

How to Join:
To participate, please first create an account on this website. Then, please email community@iona.org – your name and email will be shared with the program facilitator, Topher, who will add you to the list to receive the film links in advance, as well as reminder emails with the Zoom link for each session.

BIO:

Topher has been an instructor at IONA for five years, teaching interactive courses such as improv, filmmaking, and screenplay analysis. His Monday Movie Night! The program has watched and discussed over 100 cinema classics. With 45 years of experience performing onstage and in front of the camera, as well as a deep study of the arts, his teaching is both dynamic and insightful.

He graduated with honors in Theatre and American Government from Wesleyan University, and founded the Washington Improv Theater Training Program in Washington, DC
