A Visit to Glenstone (TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED)

Bus Leaving at 11:15am from Iona Senior Services – 4125 Albemarle St. NW

Please join us for a group bus ride and visit to Glenstone, the private museum and rolling, art-filled grounds in Potomac, MD.  It is the project of Emily and Mitchell Rales.  As stated on their website:

“At the core of the museum is a collection of post-World War II art, a very personal project driven by the pursuit of iconic works that have changed the way we think about the art of our time.”

Weather permitting, we will begin our visit by walking the grounds, where art meets nature, visiting works by Jeff Koons, Richard Serra and Tony Smith among others.  Time permitting, you may explore the galleries in the beautiful pavilions on your own.

Because much of our visit will be walking outside on gravel paths, good shoes, a hat and water bottle are recommended. Also, you may bring a snack, but picnicking is not allowed.

End:  We will return to the bus at 2pm and end at Iona at approximately 2:45pm.
