We’ll look at real examples, talk through common red flags, and share simple steps you can use right away.

We’ll also highlight new and emerging wearable tech designed to support health, safety, and confidence for older adults, featuring devices many people are finding helpful.

About the Presenter:

Adrian M. Sutton is a dedicated public servant and community leader committed to closing the digital divide in his native Washington, DC. Currently serving as the Digital Inclusion Coordinator for the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO), Adrian leads citywide initiatives that empower residents through technology.

With a passion for connecting generations, Adrian has spearheaded the development and rollout of essential “Tech 101” courses, targeting seniors, veterans, and returning citizens. His efforts have resulted in over 100 workshops conducted annually, training more than 2,800 residents on essential digital skills and internet safety. He actively manages strategic partnerships with over 20 organizations to expand program reach across the District.

Beyond his role at OCTO, Adrian is a recognized voice in the field, having served as a Keynote Speaker at the Disability Tech Summit in both 2023 and 2024. He is deeply embedded in the community, serving on the DC Age-Friendly Taskforce and as Vice President of the Benning Ridge Civic Association.

Adrian holds a Bachelor of Science from Delaware State University and an MBA from Wilmington University.
