Deborah Brouse loves nothing more than to encourage others to know the joy of singing, regardless of their talent or musical experience. For the past 4 decades Deborah has provided piano music to accompany students and entertain at events, and for more than 20 years she was music director of school musical theater productions. Since 2018 she has led sing-along activities for seniors at Chevy Chase Community Center and Adas Israel, and in 2020 she received a Community Cornerstone Award from DC Councilmember Anita Barnes for that.

For the Iona sing-along, the only requirement is a desire to sing. Piano accompaniment and lyrics to many familiar tunes will be provided, and participants choose which songs to sing. This is music making for our own pleasure and nothing more. The goal is for everyone to leave smiling and humming!

Once the in-person class capacity has been met, we will only allow registration for virtual participants. This means that once the maximum number of students who can attend the class in person has been reached, anyone else interested in participating will have to do so virtually, rather than in the physical classroom.
