Enjoy a creative mental break and gain structured art practice in the painting/drawing medium of your choice from the comfort of your home. In our weekly meetings, different images and subject matter will be provided for participants to practice their craft and explore new directions, while also developing their eye, artistic touch, and any other aspects they would like to improve. We will also discuss tips and strategies for developing your own practice plan and improving your practice habits. All backgrounds and experience levels are welcome.

Materials:
sketchpad roughly 9×12″
graphite pencils (anything between 2B to 6B)
optional: graphite sticks (anything between 2B to 6B)

Nick Cruz Velleman is an American artist of Peruvian/Filipino descent born and raised in Washington, D.C. While living there he taught in the studio art department at Georgetown Day School, worked as a manager and director for the 9:30 Club, and performed locally and regionally as a musician with various groups. He has also spent much of his life in Aix-en-Provence, France, where he studied painting and drawing on-and-off since 2009, and earned his M.F.A. degree from the Marchutz School of Fine Arts in 2020.
